I’ve always held the highest admiration for those who are financially independent – the ones who work at jobs, do activities, get great grades, work out, and somehow manage to still have fun. I also like to think I’m getting more responsible as I get older. This year, I’m all about self-improvement and quasi-trying this new “financially independent thing” (with, admittedly, a safety net of credit and debit cards with maximums more than I’ll need in a year). My parents and peers are slightly baffled and definitely in disbelief in response.
One part of this attempt (which no one, including myself, thinks will last long), is learning how to do laundry. A few days after getting back on campus, my roommate taught me how to do laundry – it was a tiny bit confusing, but overall not too challenging compared to instructions for four-hour chemistry labs. I actually quite enjoyed doing laundry.
In light of my new skill, here are some laundry rooms that are decorated so gorgeously that anyone is sure to want to spend time in them.
So clean and fresh and calming!
This week, I’ve been hard at work on my self-improvement and growing up stuffs: in addition to laundry, I also worked at my first real job as a freshman assembly usher where I gave investment advice to a police officer :)

So how did your laundry get done before?
ah, laundry service.
OMG that is remarkable! I love your work! Guess I am not as contemporaneous as your usual fans! I swear I have fallen in love with this blog... Great writing! You're an amazingly talented person, keep up the individuality :)
aww, thanks!
Oh, heaven love you for this. I also went away to college with nary a clue about how to do laundry, sent *everything* to the dry cleaners the first semester!
Good luck on year two Miss LBP,

I have a friend that I think still doesn't know how to do laundry so don't feel too guilty!
I love an organized laundry room. I dream of a preppy laundry/mud room for my future house
