September turned to October over the weekend, and the weather changed with the month. New Haven has become quite cold this week with temperatures in the mid-50’s, and varsity Y sweaters are showing up everywhere on campus. I’m about ready to break out my two Y sweaters too, but before then it’s time for transition pieces.
Chambray is the perfect summer to fall transition piece. The button down makes any look a bit more dressed up, while the fabric gives the impression of casualness – it’s perfect with shorts or a lace skirt for a comfy chic look for class.
Paired with camel colored blazers and cardigans, the look is so fall!
Yet with bright shorts, chambray looks so summer!
If you dare, you can even match chambray with denim jeans. Here are some great examples!
The juxtaposition between the chambray work shirt and feminine skirts provides the perfect contrast.
Chambray shifts look lovely too!

It’s been a long two weeks with trips to the hospital (allergic reaction while running), T-mobile (serious issues), and the Apple Store (so thankful that there’s one in New Haven)! My life’s about to get a lot busier, but in many ways I’ve been the happiest and most balanced that I’ve ever been. Hope you all have a great week!
